Green o rings are hydrogenated Nitrile, also known as highly saturated Nitrile, or more commonly known as HNBR. These o rings have the green colour moulded into their rubber and were introduced with the refrigerant of 134a, suitable for high temperatures and fluctuating stress loads.
Why are different Colours used for O-rings?
Across the rubber industry, O-rings are not color coded. Many customers adopt a method of color-coding to help prevent mixed seal inventory. Seal materials cannot be conclusively identified by color.
Can you use green O-ring for gas?
Buna O-rings, also known as nitrile or NBR O-rings, offer excellent sealing and mechanical properties at a low cost. Buna O-rings have resistance to common lubricants and are recommended for crude oil, gasoline, propane, petroleum oils and water.

If your O-Ring is cut or has snapped we can still work it out. Measure the length and the Cross section of the ring. Then divide the length by π (3.142), this will give you the circumference. Take the Cross section from this to give you the Inside diameter.
