Duck stance is ideal for park riding, but it isn't required. If your knees or calves don't feel comfortable in the duck stance, a flat or slightly forward stance will work. Keep a snowboard tool in your pocket whenever you're riding so you can make binding adjustments on the fly.

Is a shorter snowboard better for Park?

If you're riding primarily in the park or freestyle, pick a board on the shorter end of the size range. If you're riding is mostly all mountain, powder or freeriding, consider a snowboard on the longer end of the size range or grabbing a volume shifted board. If you are above average weight consider a longer snowboard.

You will find a lot of park riders use no forward lean at all, but I don't see then carving at high performance either. What does highback angle do?

Highback Angles

The angle of the highback is also adjustable, and will change the responsiveness of the bindings when you lean backwards (the responsiveness of heel-side turns). To make them more responsive, lean the highbacks forwards more, to make them less responsive lean them back more.

So if you find yourself coming onto the heel edge when doing a tail or nose press, rotate your high backs to line up with the heel edge and see if this helps.

Your highbacks start off parallel to the heel edge of your snowboard, but when you put angle on your bindings (as described in our binding angles guide), you tilt your bindings towards the nose or tail of your snowboard.
